Neoliberal Inequalities, Democratic Culture, and Education

This article provides a critical discussion on the relationship between education and inequalities created by neoliberal economic theory. First, it addresses the basic arguments of neoliberalism and its effects on democratic culture. Then, it presents neoliberal policies’ outcomes focusing on inequalities. Later, based on the thoughts of Freire, it discusses the concepts of liberation and humanization in relation to ethics and politics. Accordingly, through a discussion on liberation and education against neoliberal policies, the article finalizes with some remarks on egalitarian democracies.
